Bhutan Nuns Foundation
Serving the Divine Feminine Through Education and Empowerment
My relationship with Bhutan’s nuns began in 2006, when I was first introduced to Her Majesty Queen Mother Gyalyum Tshering Yangdoen Wangchuck. That meeting quietly changed the direction of my life. Soon after, I was invited to travel to remote nunneries throughout Bhutan.
In 2007, Raphael and I recorded the prayers and chants of the nuns, voices rising from valleys, temples, and mountain hermitages. In 2008, we released The Sacred Feminine Voices of Bhutan.
That same auspicious year marked the Coronation of the Fifth King, and the album was presented at the Smithsonian Institution during the Kingdom of Bhutan exhibition, representing the living spiritual lineage of the nuns. Being invited to witness the coronation and to experience the deep love and devotion the Bhutanese people hold for their King was unforgettable and profoundly moving.

With the first funds generated, we helped purchase a water tank for the land where the future Tshalumaphey Training and Resource Center would one day be built.
In 2009, the Bhutan Nuns Foundation was officially established under Her Majesty’s patronage. Since then, I have served on the advisory board with deep gratitude and reverence for her vision. Over the years, I have returned annually, witnessing step by step how the training center unfolded into manifestation. I have seen what becomes possible when wisdom meets courageous action. Her Majesty carries not only an open heart, but a refined sense of design, sustainability, and practical empowerment, a rare integration of grace and grounded leadership.
I am also profoundly touched by my longtime friend Dr. Tashi Zangmo, whose steady dedication and clarity have transformed vision into living structure. Through her leadership, the foundation continues to expand education, healthcare access, leadership training, and spiritual scholarship for Bhutanese women.
The Dragon’s Gift Oracle Deck, developed over nearly a decade, was completed in 2024 in the Year of the Dragon, a symbolic culmination of years of relationship, devotion, and creative collaboration. In 2025, by invitation of Her Majesty Queen Mother Gyalyum Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, I was honored to present and officially launch the Oracle Deck at the Druk Yul Literature & Arts Festival. This moment felt like a circle gently closing and opening again, returning the work to the land and lineage that inspired it. In 2026, the digital edition was released, allowing the wisdom of the Oracle and the story of the Bhutan Nuns Foundation to reach a wider global circle. Through technology, the prayers, teachings, and feminine strength rooted in Bhutan can now travel gently beyond borders, inviting greater awareness and continued support for the empowerment of women.
My contribution is simple and clear
I Serve to Empower Women

Through supporting the nuns, I support girls’ education, leadership development, healthcare, and spiritual continuity. These women are not only practitioners of prayer; they are community builders, teachers, and guardians of Bhutan’s living wisdom.
Every one of my Bhutan journeys includes a visit to the Tshalumaphey Training and Resource Center. It is important to me that participants experience this work firsthand, not as spectators, but as conscious witnesses. When you stand inside the training halls, meet the nuns, and understand their aspirations, contribution becomes personal.
Over the years, we have brought reading glasses for nuns living in the east, socks for cold winters, and invited dentists and eye doctors to offer education and care. We come with our hands full. The Golden Edition of The Dragon’s Gift Oracle Deck directly supports the Bhutan Nuns Foundation and is exclusively sold in Bhutan.

This work is not separate from my spiritual life. It is an expression of it.
To me, honoring the Divine Feminine is not ideology.
It is service.
It is stewardship.
It is gratitude made visible.
