“When people speak of spiritual teachers, they often imagine stillness, incense, and abstraction. But what I witnessed in Kutira Decosterd was something far more embodied.

Kutira is one of the hardest-working women I have ever known. Her spirituality is not separate from action. Kahua Institute itself is a living example of this: art, activism, mysticism, architecture, and community woven into one field of practice. I came to Kahua Institute in 2025 and spent three months volunteering under Kutira’s guidance, returning again in 2026 for an additional two months of continued service and study. What moved me most was her embodiment. Her teachings are lived — through how she speaks, how she creates, how she leads, how she works. Creativity flows through her as a daily discipline, not a romantic idea.

From her, I learned:
